I Spy Fall...

As I mentioned in my earlier post, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale started {don't worry, if you haven't shopped yet there are still a few days left!}. This is such a great sale because Nordstrom puts most of their fall merchandise on sale for two weeks and then it goes back up to full price, what is better than getting fall merchandise on sale during summer?? The answer...nothing.

This sale always puts me in the mood for fall accessories, boots, and chunky knits. While I am most definitely a summer girl, my fall wardrobe is by far my favorite.  I die for rich colors and comfy sweaters.  Since I am in a fall mood {currently sipping on some hot coco...I know its still summer, but I just had to} I thought I would share some of my inspiration for fall...

{nothing is more chic than winter whites, that yes, you can rock in the fall}

{that beanie, those glasses, that plaid, are everything}

{love the laid back look of the jacket and beanie with a pop of glam with the heels}

{fall is the perfect time for fur}

I may be getting ahead of myself a little with this post with it still being July and all, but now is the time to start preparing, right!?

What are your favorite fall accessories??

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!

It's the {third, behind my birthday and Christmas} most wonderful time of the year. It's time for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Having worked for this amazing company in the past, I am a die hard for this annual sale.  Not only do I know how much time and effort each and every employee puts into making this event so amazing, you can't beat these deals! New fall merchandise on sale for two weeks?? What is better.  If you have a Nordstrom card go to the website or go see your favorite salesperson and get the deals of the year! If you don't have a Nordstrom card...well you should probably get one {;)}. You will be so sad if you miss out.

Apartment Hunting???

CHICAGO. This city definitely has a special place in my heart.  Not only is it the home of my two best friends {Kate and Maddy :)} but there is just so much to love about this city.  From Lincoln Park Zoo {the giraffes are my favorite} to Navy Pier {Shoreline cruise at sunset is too romantic} to Michigan Ave {obviously my go to place to shop when in town}, there are too many fun activities that I just can't get enough of.

I love San Francisco, don't get me wrong, but Chicago has a different vibe. I'm always drawn to the amazing architecture and beautiful landscape, it's a wonder why I haven't moved there yet {I love it so much!}. After every visit to Chicago my girls always have great arguments as to why I NEED to move there. This past visit I scoped out a few apartments that I absolutely adored {I can just see Kate and Maddy rolling their eyes at me}, but this time I might actually have to make that leap of faith. Maybe it's time for me to grow some balls and do it?? Would you??

Butttt, enough about that, let's talk about the amazing rooftop party my girls threw in honor of the U.S. of A. Maddy and Kate truly know how to throw a party.  BBQin' in the sun followed by fireworks on the rooftop. Nothing could bring us down. Kate and Maddy always have the best desserts too {why my ass always seems a little larger than when I arrive}.
 They are definitely the hostesses' with the mostesses' {hehe}.

Here are some photos from our Fourth of July bash!

{the yummiest pretzel, peanut butter, chocolate bites}

{wine and cookies...don't mind if I do}

{what's more American than a red solo cup??}

{festive and CUTE coasters}

{suzy homemaker aka Kate :)}

{my girls. miss them too much already.}

I am definitely having withdrawals already. Currently planning my next visit, er, I mean move {hehe}.

Lovin' on These Looks

As I mentioned before, I am a HUGE Pinterest junky.  I feel like I am always browsing for new recipes, decorating ideas, and of course new outfit inspiration.  Here are a few looks I've been lovin' on lately...

This outfit is so perfect for a day at the beach or pool party

You can never go wrong with an LBD. And the perfect way to dress it down? Of course, add white chucks. :)

 Perfect for a summer night dinner on the patio at my favorite local Mexican restuarant, Maria Maria. Taco Tuesday anyone??

 If you know anything about San Francisco you know the summers here aren't the warmest.  This is perfect for a night in the city. Anything with leather...I'm game.

Fun In the Sun

Life is too good.  The sun is shining. I leave for Chicago in just over a week to celebrate the fourth with two of my best girls. And True Blood is finally back. What more could a girl ask for?

Even though it is still my birthday month {#monthofjulie} I have started to detox from all of my amazing birthday celebrations. Drank {and ate} a little more than I should and its definitely catching up to me.  I decided to take the week off from drinking {ending this Saturday of course...hey its my last day of classes for a few weeks} to give my body a little break. I will focus on school and the sun. Here's what I'm currently addicted too...

Addicted to the sunshine.  The weather has been so amazing here in Northern California and it makes me so happy. Nothing is better than laying by the pool after a long day of work {half the reason I love summer is because the sun never wants to set :)}. I can't wait to rock my new Mikoh swimsuit I bought on Gilt {for half the price!}, fittingly the color is sunberry!

Addicted to floral headbands.  Summer definitely brings out my love for anything boho {my inner flower child if you will}.  And what is more boho than a flower headband?? They are just a fun accessory to add for a day on the lake or a champagne brunch with the girls. I recently bought a few from That Madonna Girl. A bit bold? Sure. But I don't care.

Addicted to Kate Somerville.  I was going to try and narrow it down to one specific product I am addicted to, but there are too many good ones from her skincare line that I can't decide.  I am currently obsessing over this and this, but honestly anything I try I adore.  Shout out to my girl Tomi who is the Kate Somerville representative at my local Nordstrom. She is the best. I owe my glow to her.

With the sun shining bright and spending most of the time outdoors, don't forget to practice safe sun! Kate Somerville has some great sunscreen and amazing tanning towels in case you are in need of a little extra color {:)}.

Seriously.

I haven't posted in awhile and I thought my first post after my brief hiatus would be some words of wisdom.  If you've been reading my blog you know that I am now 24 {sigh} and you would also know that my brother is getting married in a little over a month {yay!}.  These two events combined are a deadly combination. Why, you ask? Well I have been asked the inevitable, "Julie when are you going to get married?" "Do you have a boyfriend yet??" Come on. Really???

I thought my 20's were my party years? So many people are getting married and having babies and I'm over here being all selfish, {maybe} going out too much, traveling so much I practically live out of my suitcase, oh and did I mention being selfish?? {sorry bout it} Don't get me wrong, if you have found that special someone, more power to ya {I'll find him someday ;)}, but for now, the single life is treating this girl quite well :).

I'm definitely a big kid at heart and I think that whether you are 6, 24, 53, or 79 I think we can all agree that Peter Pan had it right.  I am currently living in my Never Never Land {my 20's} and I intend to stay a little while longer. I'm going to drink champagne, dance on every table, go wherever my little heart may desire, and {try to} figure out what it all means....
