Lovin' on These Looks

As I mentioned before, I am a HUGE Pinterest junky.  I feel like I am always browsing for new recipes, decorating ideas, and of course new outfit inspiration.  Here are a few looks I've been lovin' on lately...

This outfit is so perfect for a day at the beach or pool party

You can never go wrong with an LBD. And the perfect way to dress it down? Of course, add white chucks. :)

 Perfect for a summer night dinner on the patio at my favorite local Mexican restuarant, Maria Maria. Taco Tuesday anyone??

 If you know anything about San Francisco you know the summers here aren't the warmest.  This is perfect for a night in the city. Anything with leather...I'm game.

Fun In the Sun

Life is too good.  The sun is shining. I leave for Chicago in just over a week to celebrate the fourth with two of my best girls. And True Blood is finally back. What more could a girl ask for?

Even though it is still my birthday month {#monthofjulie} I have started to detox from all of my amazing birthday celebrations. Drank {and ate} a little more than I should and its definitely catching up to me.  I decided to take the week off from drinking {ending this Saturday of course...hey its my last day of classes for a few weeks} to give my body a little break. I will focus on school and the sun. Here's what I'm currently addicted too...

Addicted to the sunshine.  The weather has been so amazing here in Northern California and it makes me so happy. Nothing is better than laying by the pool after a long day of work {half the reason I love summer is because the sun never wants to set :)}. I can't wait to rock my new Mikoh swimsuit I bought on Gilt {for half the price!}, fittingly the color is sunberry!

Addicted to floral headbands.  Summer definitely brings out my love for anything boho {my inner flower child if you will}.  And what is more boho than a flower headband?? They are just a fun accessory to add for a day on the lake or a champagne brunch with the girls. I recently bought a few from That Madonna Girl. A bit bold? Sure. But I don't care.

Addicted to Kate Somerville.  I was going to try and narrow it down to one specific product I am addicted to, but there are too many good ones from her skincare line that I can't decide.  I am currently obsessing over this and this, but honestly anything I try I adore.  Shout out to my girl Tomi who is the Kate Somerville representative at my local Nordstrom. She is the best. I owe my glow to her.

With the sun shining bright and spending most of the time outdoors, don't forget to practice safe sun! Kate Somerville has some great sunscreen and amazing tanning towels in case you are in need of a little extra color {:)}.

Seriously.

I haven't posted in awhile and I thought my first post after my brief hiatus would be some words of wisdom.  If you've been reading my blog you know that I am now 24 {sigh} and you would also know that my brother is getting married in a little over a month {yay!}.  These two events combined are a deadly combination. Why, you ask? Well I have been asked the inevitable, "Julie when are you going to get married?" "Do you have a boyfriend yet??" Come on. Really???

I thought my 20's were my party years? So many people are getting married and having babies and I'm over here being all selfish, {maybe} going out too much, traveling so much I practically live out of my suitcase, oh and did I mention being selfish?? {sorry bout it} Don't get me wrong, if you have found that special someone, more power to ya {I'll find him someday ;)}, but for now, the single life is treating this girl quite well :).

I'm definitely a big kid at heart and I think that whether you are 6, 24, 53, or 79 I think we can all agree that Peter Pan had it right.  I am currently living in my Never Never Land {my 20's} and I intend to stay a little while longer. I'm going to drink champagne, dance on every table, go wherever my little heart may desire, and {try to} figure out what it all means....

#themonthofjulie

If you refer to my previous post about my birthday being my favorite time of the year, you'll understand why I think that the month of June should be changed to the month of Julie {hehe}. As I am getting older I would like to think I am becoming wiser {yeah right, but nice thought}.

As I am approaching the actual day I turn 24 {not just the month} I'm trying to work on my whole perfectionist complex and try to not take life too seriously. I mean, fuck it I should do what I want. SO, my first step in not taking life too seriously was to make a list of things I want to accomplish/do/try in my 24th year of life.  A bucket list if you will...

1. Sky Dive {I have always wanted to go, and almost did my junior year of college on spring break, but didn't.  I think 24 will be the year}

2. Don't Over Analyze {So that whole perfectionist complex I discussed previously, I think trying not to over analyze every little detail will definitely help.  What's the point anyway...what will be will be.}

3. Spontaneity {I've done a pretty good job so far this year, especially in regards to traveling, but those late night jam sessions in the car with my girlfriends driving to who knows where are always too fun.  Need to do more of that :)}

4. Learn to Drive Stick {Cars people...get your head out of the gutter. I think there are two things a girl should know...1. drive a stick shift car and 2. shoot a gun. I got the second one covered so now it's time to learn the first. Don't ask me why I think girls should have these skills, except for the fact that it's kind of badass. Am I right?}

5. Get a Tattoo {If you know me you know that I already have one and have been wanting a second one for awhile.  Time to start thinking about what and where...any suggestions??}

I'm sure I will add more to this bucket list of mine, but for now I think these five will do. If I'm trying not to take life too seriously then I shouldn't take my bucket list too seriously, agreed?

As I am writing this I am getting too excited about my birthday and the fun shenanigans I still have planned. I know this is the second blog post about my birthday, but given how obsessed I am just be glad its not more {sorry bout it}.

worry less, live more
